Who are Behind the Masks? The Masked Singer Clues Explained!
The Masked Singer has now narrowed down to final five with recent unmasking of Alien as La Toya Jackson. The Monster, Lion, Bee, Rabbit and Peacock are yet to get unmasked, and clues have been around to guess who they could be. Here’s a breakdown on the new and old clues of who each of the singers might be.
In the recent clip for clues, the Monster shared that he grew up down south. He has won awards and has been considered a “bad boy.” He said,
When I was just a little monster growing up down South I had to stay inside because it was too dangerous out. Eventually, I discovered I had a gift…So I came out from under the bed and decided to step back into the ring. My shot at the semifinals is all teed up. So tonight. I’m coming out swinging. And I hope the little monster in me will be proud.
The Monster has performed different genres every week which means he is a professional singer, but he has also made references to being a golfer or boxer.
The panel has guessed him to be either Lil Jon or Tommy Davidson. The Monster has noted he has not been ‘In Living Color.’ So, Tommy is a no-no. One of the guesses is Wayne Brady, considering his sense of humor and singing experience. But some of the implications also suggested him to be a rapper, so maybe T-Pain?
The Lion’s clip package mimicked a film noir referencing a “sisterhood,” but wanting to break out of the pack and a newspaper headline referenced Hailey, a town in Idaho. Her past clues suggest she is from a famous family. The character in the noir hands over blue tissue with a writing which reads “Blue Moon.”
The panelists think the Lion is either Mel B, Kelly Rowland, Hailee Steinfeld or Angela Lansbury. But, the better guess is definitely Rumer Willis. Rumer’s father Bruce Willis’ character worked for the Blue Moon Detective Agency on the TV series, Moonlighting and her parents are known for their acting empires. Also, the sisterhood she is referring to is her actual sisters and Rumer was raised in Hailey, Idaho. So, Rumer Willis is the best guess so far. FYI: She has a lion tattoo.
In the clue video, she dropped several song titles by singers like Tina Turner, Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight. Further, she also revealed she has 10 Grammys. From the past clues, we’ve known that Bee is a popular singer, who started her career decades ago and has several hits but is trying to make a comeback in the industry.
Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle and Anita Baker are the guesses from the panel, but none of them have 10 Grammys. So far, the best guess is Chaka Khan, who is right around the age range and she does have 10 Grammys.
The Rabbit emphasized more on being a part of a boy band, who has been puppeted in the past. He also referenced to cooking, 17 tattoos and also to his “achy breaky heart.” He has made multiple references to the boy band, NSYNC including the bands’ song It’s Gonna Be Me. He sings like a pro, is 5’11” and often twitches on stage.
JC Chasez, Donnie Wahlberg, Joey Fatone and Billy Ray Cyrus are the panel’s conjecture. And indeed, Joey Fatone perfectly fits the description and the height. Also, in the clip package, the strings might represent NSYNC’s song, Bye Bye Bye.
He said he was a child prodigy and has performed on stages, screen and even hosted awards shows. He also made references to possibly being a magician/being a part of it. He plays the piano and has revealed that putting on a show is in his DNA. As a peacock, a part of his costume is rainbow and also he showed a wig as one of the clue items.
The panel’s best guesses are Neil Patrick Harris, Wayne Brady and Donny Osmond. Donny is the strong candidate here. The wig and rainbow cape might be a reference to Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, on which he starred as Joseph.
