Avril Ramona Lavigne, the biggest pop-rock prodigy of the early 2000s has been out of the news in recent years.

She made her debut in 2002 with her album ‘Let Go,’ which made its way to the top rank on the Billboard top 200 in Australia, Canada, and the UK.

The ‘Complicated’ hitmaker released her second studio album, Under My Skin in May 2004; it was certified five-times Platinum in Canada.

Her third album ‘The Best Damn Thing’ was released in April 2007, and it debuted at the number one spot on US Billboard 200.

Her first single from the third album, Girlfriend, which became the decade’s biggest single charted on the top rank in US Billboard Hot 100.

Avril started working on her fourth album in November 2008, but due to several delays, it was released in March 2011.

She recorded a soundtrack titled ‘Alice’ in 2010 for Tim Burton’s Disney movie ‘Alice in Wonderland’ which features legendary actor Johnny Depp.

In late 2011, she moved to Epic Records and contributed two cover songs to 2012 Japanese animated film, One Piece: Z.

Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the anime, One piece, sent a personal thank you letter to Avril after he heard her cover of ‘Bad Reputation.’

She released her fifth album ‘Here’s to Never Growing Up’ in 2013, which was produced by Martin Johnson from the band ‘Boys Like Girls.’

In an interview with Billboard in 2015, she revealed her plans to release a single named ‘Fly’ and a Christmas album which has not been released yet.

She also announced on her Instagram account that she was working on new music on December 25, 2016.

She was featured in a song, Listen by Japanese band, One Ok Rock, in their album, Ambitions which was released on January 11, 2017.

She signed with BGM and released a single ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’ with Jonny Blu, a pop/jazz singer on November 22, 2017.

The pop/rock sensation has never been away from music all her life, and we can expect an album in the near future.

Avril told her fans on social media that she couldn’t wait to show what she has been working on.
