Uwe Boll is a renowned German film director, producer, screen writer and author. He was born on June 22, 1965 in Wermelskirchen, Germany. He is best known for making films adapted from video games and produced on low budget. Boll finances his films through his Event Film Productions and Boll KF production companies.

He is a native of Wermelskirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany as he was born and spent most of his early life there.
