Sherri Saum is an American actress known for her role as Lena Adams in the Freeform family drama series, The Fosters.

She was born on October 1, 1974, in Dayton, Ohio, USA, to a German mother and African-American father.

She started her career as a model at a Model Search America near her hometown in Ohio while she was still in high school. 

After graduating from high school, she moved to New York to pursue a full-time modeling career with Images Management.

In 1997, she made her acting debut with a lead role of Vanessa Hart in the TV soap opera, Sunset Beach. 

Following that, she portrayed the character of Casey Lennox in  Showtime comedy-drama, Beggars and Chasers, from 1999 to 2001. 

She played the role of Keri Reynolds opposite to Kamar de los Reyes in American soap opera, One Life to Live. 

She and Kamar were nominated for Daytime Emmy Award for America’s Favorite Couple in 2002.

Sherri has also appeared in a few episode of series, Rescue Me, In Treatment and Gossip Girl. 

Since 2013, she has been appearing in a lead role of Lena Adams Foster in ‘The Fosters,’ which is set to conclude after the 5th season in 2018.

Apart from her major and minor roles in TV, she has also acted in a few short films. Her latest movie is #Squadgoals (2018). 

She has been married to her long-time boyfriend and her ‘One Life to Live’ co-host, Kamar de los Reyes, since 2007.

On May 13, 2014, she gave birth to twin sons, John Ruben de los Reyes and Michael Luis de los Reyes.
