Shawn Wayne Hatosy is an American actor with over 45 film and television credits to his name. Hatosy has appeared in past films such as Soldier's Girl, The Faculty, In & Out, The Cooler, Outside Providence, John Q, and 2007's Alpha Dog. He is an actor and writer, known for The Faculty (1998), The Cooler (2003) and Alpha Dog (2006).

Shawn Hatosy was born in Frederick, Maryland, to Carol Ann, a loan officer, and Wayne Thomas Hatosy, a graphic designer. By birth he has Hungarian and Irish ancestry. He grew up in the Loch Haven neighborhood of Ijamsville, Maryland, attended New Market Middle School, and got graduated from Linganore High School. Hatosy took his middle name, Wayne, from his father.

Explaining about his professional journey till the date, Hatosy's two most recent films are Public Enemies (2009), he has been starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale, and Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009), in which Hatosy portrays Nicolas Cage's partner, Armand Benoit, and Reckless (2013), a TV film.

Besides that Hatosy has also appeared in past films such as Soldier's Girl, The Faculty, In & Out, The Cooler, Outside Providence, John Q, and 2007's Alpha Dog. In past Hatosy had auditioned for a leading role in the 1999 film Varsity Blues but lost it to James Van Der Beek.

Shawn had started acting at age 10 in local theatres and on Maryland Public TV. Till the present time Hatosy has appeared in such television shows as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Twilight Zone, Felicity, Six Feet Under, ER, Law & Order, Numb3rs, My Name is Earl and Hawaii Five-0. As of April 2009, Hatosy appears as Detective Sammy Bryant in the NBC/TNT television series Southland. On the list of his continues successes his latest successful roles were that of serial killer named Boyd Fowler on the Showtime television series Dexter.


Before he entered in film industry Hatosy was a singer in his own band. He also made an appearance in Wheatus's Music Video for their single "A Little Respect". Talking about his personal life details, Shawn married Kelly Albanese in December 2010.  The couple lives in Los Angeles with their sons, Jordan Cassius (age 8–9) and Leo Hatosy born in 2012. There is no any issue related to his married life til now and they seems to really happy with each other. Saying further more about his personal interests in his real life, he likes to play tennis and the guitar. Currently he lives in Los Angeles. Recently he has sold his four-bedroom, 3561-square-foot house in Los Angeles' Hollywood Hills for $1.485 million. He had purchased it in mid-2004 for $1.3 million. He has been known as much enthusiastic actor of present time. although he hasn’t won any particular awards by now but he has kept a great hope on his win in coming future.
