Sharon Case is an American actress and former model. Sharon has been in acting line from the young age of 17. She is best known for her roles on daytime television soap operas, scoring parts in the serials General Hospital and As the World Turns during the early stages of her career. In 1994, she stepped into the role of Sharon Newman on the CBS daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless, which she still plays presently. Case is also considered as a leading actress for the series. She has also won the 1999 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance which has been met with critical acclaim.
Case was born on February 9, 1971 in Detroit, Michigan. She has been involved in acting, dancing and devoting herself to ballet and jazz since her childhood. When she was only 3 years old, she and her parents relocated to Chatsworth, California, then the family settled with peace. She completed her study from same place with grace. Although her academic qualification has not yet disclosed in any site by now but it seems she has been a well-educated woman in acting line as like other professional actresses. She had always dreamed to be an actress but turned her attention to modeling as a teenager. She has once made a statement, which says, "I thought modeling would be a good start in the business".
At the age of 17 in 1988, Case caught the eye of a scout while attending a modeling event, and was offered a modeling job in Japan. She traveled to Japan for five months, before returning to Los Angeles. She later took part in theater, garnering lead role credits in the musicals Grease, The Wizard and The Nutcracker. In November 1989, Case scored her first television role playing Dawn Winthrop on the ABC Network soap opera General Hospital. She departed General Hospital the next year, after a guest appearance on another ABC series, the comedy drama Doogie Howser, M.D.. In 1991, Case appeared in various other television series, including Diplomatic Immunity, Beverly Hills, 90210, Parker Lewis Can't Lose and Cheers. From November 1992 to 1993 Case stepped into her second soap opera role, as Debbie Simon on the CBS Network drama As the World Turns. In 2005, Case appeared in an independent film entitled Carpool Guy with The Young and the Restless co-star Lauralee Bell. In the same year, she also starred in the short film Wentworth. Later in 2007, she again starred with Debra Hopkins in her second film, Repressions. In August 1994, Case was cast in the role of Sharon Newman on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless. Since 2011, the character's storylines have been met with controversy and negative feedback. On January 29, 2010, she had announced that she would unveil her own signature line of fashion jewelry entitled “Pomp”. She had great passion towards fashion jewelry from very young age. She has also made a statement on her passion for fashion which she had been holding for quite long time.
Although she had started her designing with her best friend but another inspiration was the character of Sharon Newman, who briefly worked in a lucrative beauty line on the show, "Beauty of Nature". There is no any detail about her being linked with any social sites, which could be beneficial for her fans and followers.
She has been very shy about her personal life, so it’s a difficult task to spread anything about her in contradictory aspect. In 2007, she got married with Sandy Corzine. After spending two years with husband Sandy, she ended her relation with divorce in 2009. That same year she started dating with Jimmy Wayne. However, her current relationship status is a subject matter of secrecy.
