Me Before You star Sam Claflin has joined the crew of the English television crime drama, Peaky Blinders, season 5. The actor divulged that he “couldn’t feel more privileged to be invited to join this iconic show” and even praised Steven Knight’s creation as a “brilliant production.”

Sam is known for his work in some hit movies, including The Hunger Games trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Me Before You. His role in the series is yet to be disclosed, but it’s certain that his character will be an integral one to carry on the interesting storyline. Other cast members joining the show’s season 5 are Anya Taylor-Joy, Kate Dickie, Brian Gleeson, Neil Maskell, Cosmo Jarvis and Emmett J. Scanlan.

What to Expect From Peaky Blinders Season 5?

Season 4 ended with the majority of the Shelby clan fighting their way through mob boss Luca Changretta. The new season will move onto the 1930s, and the creator is planning to end the story between the two world wars extending the series up to season 7. So, fans were anticipating to see Al Capone and even settled for Snatch star Stephen Graham as the perfect casting for the role. But howsoever, Steven Knight left the fans disappointed when he shared that there won’t be any Al Capone.

In Peaky Blinders season 5, fans will get to see how Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) will be approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, and he realizes that his decision will not only affect his family’s future but also of the entire nation.

The season 5 of the English TV drama will be airing in 2019.
