Robert De Niro Biography
Robert De Niro is an American actor, a voice director and also a producer. He was born on the 17th of August in the year 1943. He was born in the Greenwich Village in Manhattan, New York. He is the son of Virginia Holton Admiral who was a painter and a poet and his father, Robert De Niro, Sr. was an painter as well as a sculptor. He grew up with his father whom he lived with.he studied till grade six in PS 41 which is a public elementary school. He then went to Elisabeth Irwin High School which is the private school of Little Red High School. De Niro began high school at the private McBurney School and later concentrated the private , even though he never graduated from either. Nicknamed "Bobby Milk" for his pastiness, De Niro went out with a group of street kids as a youth in Little Italy, some of whom have remained his lifetime friends. The direction of his future had already been settled on by his stage debut at age 10, when he did a role in the Cowardly Lion in a school production of The Wizard of Oz.
He did his first role at the age of 20 as he appeared in the movie The Wedding which was produced by Brian De Palma in the year 1963. He then did another movie in the year of 1970 which was titled Bloody Mama and was the movie of Roger Corman. He did essential role in the movie The Godfather Part II in the year 1974. He did the role as the young version of Vito Corleone. He did a splendid performance in the movie and also got his Academy Award for the category of Best Supporting Actor. His movies in the 80’s and 90’s had been considered as one of his best acts in his career. His roles made him accomplished him to reach in his present situation. The movies are Brazil (1985), Midnight Run (1988),Analyze This (1999), Meet the Parents (2000), and Meet the Fockers (2004). Other films include True Confessions (1981), Falling in Love (1984), Once Upon a Time in America (1984), The Mission (1986), Angel Heart (1987), The Untouchables (1987), Goodfellas(1990), Awakenings (1990), Heat (1995), The Fan(1996), Sleepers (1996), Wag the Dog (1997), Jackie Brown (1997), and Ronin (1998). He had a role in the movie The Departed which was released in the year 2006.
Apart from the movies he is also active in some other activities. He has invested in the co-founding movie studio TriBeCa Productions. His some other ventures are the Tribeca Film Festival, the Nobu as well as the TriBeca Grill. He has also some investments apart from the film industry which includes The Greenwich Hotel and also the restaurant which is inside the hotel, Locanda Verde. It is also reported that he is currently associated with the renowned chef, Natalia Jibladze in order to start a restaurant in Manhattan which also carries the trademark of Tribeca. He was also asked to establish a restaurant in the city Malaysia when he got the opportunity to dine with the wife of Malaysian president.
De Niro and his first wife, Diahnne Abbott, have a son, Raphael, a past actor who works in New York real domain. In 1997, De Niro got married to his second wife, actress Grace Hightower, at their Marbletown home. Their son was born in 1998 and the couple got separated in 1999. The divorce was not legally finalized and in 2004 they renewed their guarantees. In December 2011 a daughter was born through surrogate. De Niro has got four grandchildren, one from his daughter Drena and other three from his son Raphael.
