Madelaine Petsch is an Archie fangirl
Madelaine Petsch plays Cheryl Blossom’s mean girl persona to perfection in the series.
As good as her depiction of the character is, her inspiration comes from her love of the old Archie Comics itself.
The red-headed bombshell admitted that she used to read the comics growing up, so getting to play in a TV show based on it must be like a dream come true for her.
The show is Camila Mendes’ first acting gig
From the looks of it, it seems like Camila Mendes has been acting for years. But, believe it or not, ‘Riverdale’ is actually her first professional acting job.’
She attended the NYU Tisch School of the Arts where she enrolled in the Stonestreet Film Acting Conservatory for two semesters.
Right after graduation, she was sought after by the casting crew and would go on to bag the role of Veronica Lodge.
The characters in the show have certainly grown on us so much as if each of them was born to play their individual roles.
But, Madelaine Petsch originally auditioned for the role of Betty, while Cole Sprouse was asked to audition for Archie.
In the end, the two would be eventually cast as Cheryl Blossom and Jughead Jones respectively-- which inarguably was casting done right.
Lili Reinhart and Madelaine Petsch were roommates
Although Lili Reinhart and Madelaine Petsch play opposing characters in the show, the two were roommates in real life.
In fact, Madelaine once said that Lili is her best friend to whom she can keep all her secrets.
The co-stars lived together while filming the first season of the show in Vancouver.
KJ Apa's Samoan Heritage
There are a few surprising facts about KJ Apa, the star of the show who plays Archie.
First, he is not a natural redhead.
Second, his American accent is made up. He is actually from New Zealand and is even half-Samoan.
He has a traditional Samoan tattoo on his shoulder, which he says he got when he was just 15.
