Rachelle Lefevre : Biography
The Canadian actress Rachelle Lefevre was born on February 1, 1979. She works for both television and the movies. She is known for her character Victoria Sutherland on the movie Twilight (2008) and The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009). She starred in the TV series Big Wolf on Campus. She also appeared on Boston Legal, What About Brian and Swingtown. Her recent work includes the ABC medical drama Off the Map and CBS series Under the Dome and A Gifted Man.
She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada as one of the four daughters to father, who was an English teacher and mother, who was a psychologist. She went to a private high school, Centennial Academy and then attended Dawson College. She studied creative arts in the latter. Then after, she went to Walnut High School, Natick, Massachusetts where she studied theater for two summers. To get a degree in education and literature, she chose McGill University. Her father is originally from France and Northern Ireland and her mother is Ashkenazi Jewish. Her maternal grandparents followed Jewish and her stepfather was a rabbi.
She auditioned for the sitcom Student Bodies but did not get the part. The casting director of the sitcom, however, gave her acting debut in 1999, as Stacey Hanson, in the Canadian TV series, Big Wolf on Campus. She was also attending McGill University at the time and left the series to pursue her education. But she never completed her degree. She then appeared in the 2002 film Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and television movies See Jane Date, Hatley High and Picking Up and Dropping Off. Inn 2004, she moved to West Hollywood, California and had roles in movies such as Noel, Head in the Clouds, The River King. She then started starring on numerous TV series and appeared in some of them as guest star. In 2008, she was cast as the rebel vampire Victoria Sutherland in the film Twilight. The character got her a lot of fame all over the world. She played the same role in the second film of the franchise New Moon. She even received the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Villain for the role. That was the last of her as Victoria and she fired to be replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard in the third film of the Twilight Series, Eclipse because of scheduling conflicts. She appeared in the movies Barney’s Version (2010), Casino Jack (2010) and The Caller (2013). Her recent work includes the TV series Off the Map (2011), A Gifted Man (2011-2012) and Under the Dome (2013).
She was dating the actor Jamie King, who played Thomas Wyatt in the Showtime TV series The Tudors, as of June 2009. Their relationship, however, did not last very long and they headed for a separation. Chris Crary became her next boyfriend. He was a contestant on the cooking reality television series, Top Chef. They had started dating in August 2013. She now lives in Los Angeles, California. She is a socialist and is involved in numerous charity works.
