Netflix is clearly cleaning house! After the surprise cancellations of Iron Fist and Luke Cage,  in October, the streaming service has axed Daredevil. Not weeks after Daredevil concluded its critically acclaimed third season, Netflix has canceled the show making it the third Defender series to get chopped.

Will Daredevil get Afterlife Elsewhere?

While there seems no possibility of returning of previously axed Defenders series, Daredevil, in all likelihood, will be resurrected elsewhere. Netflix told Deadline

Marvel’s Daredevil will not return for a fourth season on Netflix. We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season, and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note. We’re thankful to showrunner Erik Oleson, the show’s writers, stellar crew and incredible cast including Charlie Cox as Daredevil himself, and we’re grateful to the fans who have supported the show over the years.

Netflix proclaimed that the “three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come” and also assured, “the Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel.” Disney is working to launch its own standalone streaming service in 2019 and is in the process of isolating itself from Netflix. As of now, only Jessica Jones and The Punisher are left on Netflix’s roster of Defenders.

Both of the shows have new seasons in the pipeline. FYI: No official return date of the shows has been made public yet neither by Marvel or Netflix.
