Shawn Ellington aka Murder Nova is a street racer featured in the Discovery’s docu-reality series, Street Outlaws.

He was born on November 15, 1979, in Merced, California.

He later moved with his family to Sayre, Oklahoma, where he grew up working with his dad, Richard, in his auto body workshop.

A car fanatic from an early age, Shawn moved to Oklahoma City in 2005.

Afterwards, he brought his favorite car, 1969 Chevy Nova, which he customized entirely and named Murder Nova.

The car features two Precision 88mm Pro Mod Turbochargers and is powered by a Big Block Chevy Pro-line engine.

The car was once the fastest street race car, which made him a household name.

He unveiled the long-awaited new Murder Nova on Dec. 9, 2016, at the Performance and Racing Industry Trade Show in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He claimed that the car, in which he has used lightweight carbon fiber, will beat the speed of his first car.

He has brought his new car on ‘Street Outlaws’ this season.

His father, Richard and his wife, Erin are also popular on Instagram as  murder_nova _dad and mrs_mudernova respectively.

Shawn and Big Chief of ‘Street Outlaws’ co-own Midwest Street Cars in Oklahoma City.

The two also host a podcast named ‘The Chief and Shawn Show,’ where they discuss their lives and street racing.
