Margaret Hoover was born as Margaret Claire Hoover on December 11, 1977. She is a political commentator, Republican strategist and a famous media personality. She has also an author and a gay rights activist. She is the author of the best-selling book American Individualism: How a New Generation of Conservatives Can Save the Republican Party which was published in July 2011 by Crown Forum. Her main focus is on renewing the Republican Party in such a way that it connects with the new generation of Americans.

She was born in Colorado and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States by parents Jean W. Hoover and Andrew Hoover of Littleton, Colorado. She is the grand-daughter of the former U.S President Herbert Hoover.
