Mara Wilson Biography
Mara Elizabeth Wilson is an American former child actress, writer, playwright, stage actress and voice actress by her profession. So far by nor she has been best known for her roles as Natalie Hillard in Mrs. Doubtfire and the titular character of Matilda. Mara has been known to be very hardworking actresses of her level. Till the date many sites has successfully included her entire life events in well explicable form. She is the oldest daughter of Mike Wilson. Beside to her acting skill, she has also sang at the 67th Academy Awards telecast on March 27, 1995, with Tim Curry and Kathy Najimy.
Mara Wilson was born on July 24, 1987 in Los Angeles, California, USA. She is the oldest daughter of Mike Wilson, a television broadcast engineer and the late Suzie Shapiro Wilson, a homemaker. As for her family members, she has three older brothers, Danny, Jon and Joel. She also has a younger sister, Anna. Her family has many successful personalities as like her cousin is political commentator. She lost her mother on April 26, 1996 after her breast cancer was diagnosed in March 26, 1995. Her mother had belonged to Jewish and her father is of part of Irish descent, but Wilson was raised in the faith of Jewish Faith. But at present she likes to call her self an atheist. As for her academic qualification, she had graduated from Idyllwild Arts Academy. Later she also studied at New York University.
Now turning back to her professional journey, after watching her eldest brother Danny’s act in commercials, she got strongly attracted to acting line. at that time she was only 5 years old. Her passion towards acting increased in such a way that she made her debut in the 1993 from a movie Mrs. Doubtfire, followed b the 1994 remake of Miracle on 34th Street. Later in 1994, she had a chance to act on recurring role as Nikki Petrova on Melrose Place and she also played a role of Barbara Barton in the television film A Time to Heal. In 1995, she won the ShoWest Award for "Young Star of the Year". Her performances always succeeded to catch the attention on Danny DeVito.
Very hard working Wilson won a Young Artist Award for her role in A Simple Wish in "Best Performance in a Feature Film Leading Young Actress" and a Young Star Award for Matilda in "Best Performance by a Young Actress in a Comedy Film". She was twice nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor for both Matilda and A Simple Wish. In 2012, Wilson appeared briefly in one episode of a web series called Missed Connection in the role of Bitty and made special appearances on internet review shows for That Guy with the Glasses.
Talking about her personal profile, she has been allergic to nickel as due to which she is unable to wear any jewelry. Beside that she also suffers from asthma since her school life. At present she is attending New York University and studying acting. She has not in any relation till now which means she is totally focused on her career at the present time.
