Leslie Easterbrook is a prominent American for the big and small screen and stage. She celebrates her birthday on July 29 every year and was born in the year 1949 as Leslie Eileen Easterbook. She debuted into the movie industry with minor roles and started getting attention for her portrayal of Ronda Lee in Laverne & Shirley. She is best known for her role of Debbie Callahan of Police Academy.
Leslie was born in Los Angeles, California, United States of America. She was adopted by a family in rural Arcadia, Nebraska, and it was there she was raised. For her high school education, she attended and Kearney High School and graduated from there in 1967. After her father later earned a Ph.D and became a professor of voice/trumpet at University of Nebraska at Kearney, he made arrangements for her operatic roles and coached her in trumpet playing for her part in Laverne & Shirley. She first rose to prominence as Rhonda Lee, the Marilyn-Monroe-like neighbor of Laverne & Shirley. She received major success for the role of the beautiful yet no-nonsense blonde bombshell Sergeant, Lieutenant and then Captain, Debbie Callahan, in the popular Police Academy movie series. The role soon became her most widely known role. She has appeared in Baywatch, Murder, She Wrote, Matlock, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, Hunter, The Dukes of Hazzard and appeared as Devlin Kowalski from Ryan's Hope. Owing to her vocal talents, she was chosen to sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XVII and has also landed starring roles in several Broadway musicals and all around the country. Her next major role will be in the film Greater, which tells the story of Brandon Burlsworth, and his journey from a former walk-on football player at the University of Arkansas, to an All-American, drafter into the NFL. Coming in 2014 she takes on the character of a mentally twisted and beaten mother of twin daughters Mara Winters in a thriller called Down Angel. More recently, she's been doing voice work including Superman and Batman: The Animated Series. By now, Easterbrook has become a familiar face to American audiences, with about a dozen of feature films and more than 300 television episodes to her credit.
