Kim Novak is an award winning American actress. She was born on February 13, 1933 as Marylin Pauline Novak. She started her professional acting career in the year 1954 and she landed the breakthrough role in the 1995 movie Picnic which made her widely famous and gave recognition as an actress. She has done many hit movies such as The Man With the Golden Arm, Pal Joey, The Eddy Duchin Story, Jeanne Eagles, Vertigo, Middle of the Night, are a few among others. Her last movie was Liebestraum which was released in 1999. She has worked for the TV too. Besides her successful acting career, she is also an accomplished painter.

She is a native of Chicago, Illinois, United States as she was born and raised there. Her father, Joseph Novak was a history teacher and worked as a dispatcher on the St. Paul and Chicago, Milwaukee Railroad and her mother Blanche was a factory worker. Both her parents had Czech ancestry. Kim attended William Penn Elementary, Farragut High School and Wright Junior College. She earned her way into the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with two scholarships. During the summer break in her last semester of junior college, she went on a cross-country modeling tour for a refrigerator company at trade shows. While at Los Angeles, she was discovered by an agent, who signed her to a long-term contract with Columbia Pictures.

She debuted into the acting industry with the movie Pushover in 1954 and landed her first starring role in 5 Against the House. Her breakthrough role came with the movie Picnic which garnered her lots of critical praised and won the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer. By 1956, Kim had become the number one box office star in the world, and she proudly held that position for three solid years of outstanding film making. She continued her good work in the decade of 60s and the last film she made in the '60s was The Great Bank Robbery (1969). She took a four year long hiatus and returned to the movies only in 1973 with Tales That Witness Madness. Novak did not appear in any feature films during the 1980s besides The Mirror Crack'd but she kept herself busy with the ensemble television movie Malibu (1983) and the pilot episode of The New Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1985). In 1991 she was cast in the movie Liebestraum but she had hard time filming the movie because of the strong difference of opinion she had with the director Mike Figgs. This took a toll on her and she decided to retire from the movies altogether. However, she kept her options open and said teht she would still do movies if the right script came along, which unfortunately hasn’t.

Novak was married to British actor Richard Johnson from March 15, 1965 to April 23, 1966. Then she dated director Richard Quine, Sammy Davis, Jr., Ramfis Trujillo, Prince Aly Khan, Frank Sinatra, Richard Beymer and actor Michael Brandon. Finally in 1974, she met Robert Malloy. They tied the knot in 1996 and are living in a ranch in Eagle Point, Oregon raising llamas and horses. Her husband is an equine veterinarian. She has two step-children with him. In October 2010, it was reported that Novak had been diagnosed with breast cancer and was undergoing treatment. Upon completion of treatment, Novak was declared cancer-free and is continuing her creative endeavors as a photographer, poet and visual artist.

Kim had hot body measurements of 35-23-35 inches, during the 1950s. She stands tall at the height of 5 feet and 6 inches.
