Kevin Bacon is an American actor for the film and television, television director, film score composer, film producer, voice actor and musician. He was born in the year 1958 as Kevin Norwood Bacon and celebrates his birthday on 8th of July every year. Currently, he is working for television and stars on the series The Following by the Fox television. He is best known for his work in movies such as Mystic River (2003), Apollo 13 (1995), A Few Good Men (1992), JFK (1991) and Footloose (1984). He has a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame etched in 2003. Bacon is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America as he was born and spent most of his early life there. He was born among the six children to mother, Ruth Hilda, was a liberal activist and taught at an elementary school and father Edmund Norwood Bacon, who was a well perceived architect and served as Executive Director of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission for several years. In 1975, Bacon won a full scholarship to attend the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts at Bucknell University where he studied theater under Dr. Glory Van Scott and that experience solidified his passion for acting.
To kick started his professional acting career, Bacon left home at the young age of 17 and started his appearing in a production of the Circle in the Square Theater School. He debuted with the fraternity comedy called National Lampoon’s Animal House in the year 1978 and continued with minor roles. His breakthrough came only in 1982 as he was cast in the film Diner. There was no looking back after that and gave the box office hit Footloose in 1984. In the 90s decade, he gave hit movies such as Flatliners, Tremors, He Said, She Said, JFK, The Wild River, Apollo 13, Sleepers, Picture Perfect, Hollow Man, Stir of Echoes and many others.
