Joss Stone was born on 11th of April, 1987. She is a renowned English soul singer, song writer and actress. Her fame rocketed as she released her debut album, The Soul Sessions in 2003. The album became multi-platinum and earned her a nomination for the 2004 Mercury Awards. Her next effort, Mind Body & Soul was equally successful topping the UK Album Chart for a whole week. With this, she became the youngest British female singer to top the Uk Albums Chart. She released her third album Introducing Joss Stone in March 2007 followed by her fourth album, Color Me Free! on October 20, 2009. Since then, she has released two more albums LP1 (2011) and The Soul Sessions Vol. 2 (2012). In 2009, she debuted into the movies with the 2006 fantasy adventure film Eargon and debuted in the small screen with the role of Anne of Cleves in the Showtime series The Tudors.
Talking about her early life, she was born as Jocelyn Eve Stoker in Dover, Kent, United Kingdom and spent her teenage in a small village in Devon called Ashill. She is the third of the four children. Her father, Richard Stoker, is a fruit and nut export/import businessman and her mother, Wendy, worked as her manager. She says that she was dyslexic and that made her leave school with only three GCSE qualifications. She was 16 then and has since then focused on her music career.
She auditioned for BBC Television’s talent show Star for a Night in 2001 and won the show. She was also the winner of Steps to the Stars. S -Curve Records’ CEO Steve Greenberg flew her to New York for an audition and she was instantly signed to his label. Her first album The Soul Sessions was released on 16 September, 2003. S-Curve Records released her album in the U. S. and EMI Music released it on the international market. Her first album gained her a lot of critical acclaim. Her second album Mind Body & Soul, released on September 28, 2004 gave her the biggest hit till date with the single You Had Me. She has worked under collaboration with many renowned people. On November 14, 2004She then joined Band Aid 20 and recorded the 1984 song Do They Know It’s Christmas?, for charity. She entered the Guinness World Records as the youngest BRIT Award solo winner at the age of 17. She became the spokesperson of Gap clothing company. She debuted into the TV with The Tudors (2009-2010) and into movies with Eargon (2006). She has received many awards and accolades for her good work. She has one Grammy and two BRIT Awards, among the eight awards.
She started dating Beau Dozier in 2004 and was living together. Her then boyfriend is best known as the part of Holland-Dozier-Holland. She wrote the song Spoiled with him. Their relationship did not last much long and they separated in November 2005. After the relationship, she has kept personal life discreet and does not wish to reveal it anytime soon. Not much information has been disclosed about her. She has not married yet and from the looks of it, is away from marriage for some time.
