Dan Castellaneta Biography
Daniel Louis Castellaneta is an American actor, comedian, a screenwriter and also a voice actor. He is mainly known for the famous role of Homer Simpson on the television animated series The Simpsons. He has given his voice to the character. He was born on the 29th of October in the year of 1957. He has also contributed his voice to other characters of The Simpsons. He was born in Oak Park, Illinois which is a suburb in Chicago state. His father was a rising actor and also owned printing company. He was engaged in acting classes from his childhood as his mother enrolled him. He went to Oak Park and River Forest High School and then later attended Northern Illinois University during the year of 1975.
He started his career as an actor after he got his graduation in the year 1979. Later he worked in a theatre, The Second City which was situated in Chicago in the year 1983. He worked in the theatre till 1987. He had also worked in the radio representing his voice talents. He met producer Tracy Ullman while he auditioned for a role in The Tracy Ullman Show. Dan had amazing performing abilities. His performance made Tracy cry and was impressed by his qualities. This all led him to a bright future as Tracy hired him. Most of all, he is known for the animated character, Homer Simpson which is shown in the television show The Simpsons.
His performances had earned him a great respect while he has also received many awards including the Primetime Emmy Awards in the year 1992. He got the award for the category of Outstanding Voice-Over Performance which was for the voice role of Homer Simpson. In the year of 1993 he had been given a special award which was titled Outstanding Individual Achievement in the Field of Animation. He had also been listed in the Top 50 Greatest Cartoon Characters and was in the second position. The survey was done in the year of 2002 by TV Guide. By the year of 1998 he was paid $30,000 for an episode. There was a dispute in the year of 1998 and was also told that he and his supports would be replaced with some new actors. But later the dispute had been closed and till the time of 2004 he was paid $125,000 for an episode and later he was told that he would be paid about $360,000 for an episode. Later he was given $400,000 for an episode and later his salary had been cut down to $300,000 per episode. He had also casted in several television shows and some of the series as well. In the year of 1991 he did the role of Warren Morris in the television series of Sibs. The television series was telecasted in the television channel ABC. The creator of Sibs, Heide Perlman had already thought of Dan when he wrote the part of the television series. His some other voice contributions include in The Adventures of Dynamo Duck, the voice of Megavolt in Darkwing Duck and also the lead role in Earthworm Jim. Some of his appearance in the television includes Campus Ladies, Castle, How I Met Your Mother, Murphy Brown, NYPD Blue, Everybody Loves Raymond, Parks and Recreation, Reba, Reno 911!. There are some more television series where he had given his appearance. He also made an appearance as Genie in the television series of Aladdin which was telecasted in 1994.
