Dan Abrams :: Biography
Born on May 20, 1966, “Dan Abrams” is well known as American TV host, legal commentator, author and Web entrepreneur. Currently, he is working as a co-anchor to the show called ‘Nightline’. He is also serving ABC News as the Chief Legal Affairs Anchor. Prior to his association with ABC, he used to work for NBC News as a chief legal analyst. He has also worked for MSNBC as an anchor. Dan was born in Manhattan to a Jewish parents Floyd and Efrat Abrams. Dan celebrates his birthday on May 20. He completed his schooling from the Riverdale Country School in the year 1984. In 1988, he earned B.A. aum laude in political science from the Duke University. While studying at Duke University, he used to anchor newscasts on Cable 13. Then he completed Juris Doctor(J.D.) in 1992 from the Columbia University Law School.
Dan served for the Court TV as a reporter prior working at NBC News. He joined NBC news after leaving Court TV. In the NBC network, he worked from 1997 to 1999 as a general assignment correspondent. While working in the network, he covered the major news like Bush v. Gore Abrams. After working two years at NBC, he joined MSNBC. Abrams started his own show where he worked as a host. His show was named ‘The Abrams Report’ which officially started in 2001. He was offered the lead managerial position considering his good performance as a host of his show. He served as General Manager of MSNBC from June 12 to October 2007. In March 2011, he joined ABC news as a legal analyst and substitute anchor on the show called ‘Good Morning America’. While working as a member of ABC network, he got an opportunity to have access to all other networks platforms like The View, ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, Good Morning America, Nightline and The Katie Couric Show. He earned the title of Chief Legal Affairs Anchor while working at ABC News. Besides his media work, he launched a new site ‘Mediaite’ in July 2009 which was developed to appreciate the celebrity of the media. He also launched Gossip Cop along with Michael Lewittes. The website was developed to patrols the celebrity gossip universe. Apart from his hosting and websites work, he also became successful to establish himself as a writer. He published his articles in the Wall Street Journal, The American Lawyer, New York Times and Yale Law and Policy Review.
