Cris Collinsworth Biography
A talented and renowned former American professional football player, Anthony Cris Collinsworth professionally known as “Cris Collinsworth” was born on 27th January, 1959 in Dayton, Ohio. He is best recognized as wide receiver at the National Football League (NFL). Cris completed his high school education from the ‘Astronaut High School’ based in Titusville. While studying at the high school, he was actively involved in the football. He used to play as All-American quarterback while attending at the high school. Collinsworth is blessed with an exemplified height of 6 feet 5 inches. The college football coach was attracted to him with seeing his exemplified height and speed. Cris received the athletic Scholarship at the University of Florida. In the University, he got a chance to play with under the coach, Doug Dickey and Charley Pell. His first game as a quarterback was with the Gator where he amazed all the people with his inconceivable football skills. Later he moved to wide receiver where he played with as an offensive player. While playing as a senior, he became a member of Gators team. He held his graduation degree from the Florida majoring in Accounting in the year 1981. Cris was signed by the ‘Tampa Bay Bandits’ of United States Football League in 1985. But unfortunately, the contract was cancelled due to his bad ankle problem. After that he made his comeback at the Bengals where he played for the team until the 1988 season. In Super Bowl XXIII, he gained wide attention with his amazing three passes for 40 yards. It was his final game of his football career. Cris showed his amazing sport skills in the eight season NFL career with the inconceivable records of 417 receptions for 6698 yards. After being retired from the football, he started working as radio host on ‘Cincinnati’ radio station. At the starting time, he just appeared as a guest host for Bob Trumphy. Later he surprisingly became the host of the show. After that, he gave continuity to his broadcasting career working at the different networks like HBO, NBC and CBS. Currently, he is working as a television sportscaster for three television networks NBC, Showtime and NFL network.
