Everything to know about The Voice contestant Cody Ray Raymond
Cody Ray Raymond is a soul-rock singer, who came into the limelight after appearing in season 15 of The Voice. Born in 1991, he grew up in Albany, Oregon, with his mom and stepdad, who taught him kung fu and to play guitar. Later, he joined military and got stationed in the North Pole.
Life Before The Voice
After spending some time in the north, he decided to step down from the military and moved to Seattle. Cody had a phase of struggle after moving to Seattle. He was often playing on the streets for food. Later on, he met a few other musicians and formed a music group, Cody Ray & the New Favorites. The band often plays at different venues across the city. He updates about their performances on social media.
Cody appeared in episode 6 of The Voice season 15 and amused everyone with his melodious rendition of Albert King's Born Under a Bad Sign. After his wonderful performance, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson turned their chairs, but he chose to be in the team of Kelly & went up against SandyRedd in battle round. Being saved by Kelly, he advanced to the Knockout rounds; however, he shocked everyone after announcing that he had decided to leave the show, citing "personal matters." However, to fans relief, he has suggested them to “stay tuned for new music.” After the news broke out, many were sad to see their favorite contestant go.
As of now, Cody is allegedly in a relationship with a girl who’s Instagram handle goes by @tawneymykol.
