Chiaki Kuriyama Biography
Chiyaki Kuriyama is a Japanese actress, singer and a model too. The beautiful singer has got other talents too which boosts up her personality and her public image. She was born on the 10th of October in the year of 1984. She is best known for her role in the movie Battle Royale. She did the role of Takako Chigusa. The movie was the production of Kinji Fukasaku and the movie was released in the year 2000. Then in the year of 2003 she did a movie Kill Bill: Volume 1 where she portrayed Gogo Yubari. She has got amazing acting skills and gives splendid performances in her acting. She was born in Tsuchiura, Ibaraki.
During the mid 90’s Kuriyama was one of the popular model when Japan’s child model boom was held. And then later she got to feature in the photobooks Shinwa-Shojo( Girl of Myth) and also in Shojokan (Girl’s Residence). The photobook was from the famous photographer Kidhin Shinoyama. The photobook Shinwa-Sojo was much appreciated by the viewers and also became the best-seller. There were some controversies arised from the photobook as it had some nudity. After there was implementation of new anti-child pornography laws the photobook was stopped to publish in the year 1999 by the publisher. Kuriyama has also given her amazing modeling stunts in the child fashion magazine Nicola from the year 1997 to 2001. Her another modeling pose act was seen in another magazine Pichi Lemon which was from the year 1996 to 2001.
She got more renowned after she was seen with amazing acting skills as an actress in Japan. She got widely noticed when she did a role in the horror movies Shikoku in the year 1999 and another movie of same genre, Ju-on which was premiered in the year 2000. Her another remarkable role is considered as Takako Chigusa which was shown in the movie Battle Royale. Apart from her acting career in the movies, she has also appeared in different Japanese television programs. One of her notable act can be seen in the television series of Rokubanme no Sayoko. Her debut movie in the Hollywood was Kill Bill: Volume 1 which was released in the year 2003. The movie was directed by director Quentin Tarantino and Kuriyama portrayed the role of Gogo Yubari. The role was of a schoolgirl bodyguard of a yakuza O-Ren Ishii. The role of O-Ren was played by the actor Lucy Liu. Some of her other featured movies are Yokai Daisenso which was the production of Takashi Miike and another movie related to a ninja titled Azumi 2: Death or Love.
Along with her acting career, she has got an amazing voice and she is also a Japanese pop idol. In the year 2010 she released her CD single Ryusei no Namida. The album was from the association of DefStar Records and the album was placed under artist name CHiAKi KURiYAMA. The released single had been given to the ending theme for Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. Her songs has mostly been used for different animes. Her other three singles had followed the first released single. The songs were written traditionally in Japanese, Kanosei Girl. While her other single was Cold Finger Girl and another single was titled Oishii Kisetsu. The song, Kanosei Girl was used for the opening theme of Yorinuki Gin Tama-San while her single, Cold Finger Girl had been used for the anime adaptation of the Level E. then a year later in 2011, she released her another album titled Circus.
Going on with her acting career, the beautiful actress has recently appeared in the movie Team Batista 4 where she plays the role of Sumire Sakuranomiya and also in the movie Alice no Toge and portrayed Miwa Hoshino.
