Thomas Everett Scott, better known by his stage name Tom Scott is an American actor for the film, theatre and television.  He was born in the year 1970 and celebrates his birthday on September 7, every year.  His best known work in the big screen includes a starring role as drummer Guy Patterson in the film That Thing You Do! (1996). Among the television audiences, he is better known as detective Russell Clarke in Southland. He was a part of the main cast for the first season of the series and thereafter had a recurring role.

Scott is a native of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, United States of America as he was born and spent most of his early life there. He was welcomed to the family as the son of mother, Cynthia "Cindy", who was an insurance saleswoman, and father, William Joseph "Bill" Scott, who served as a civil engineer. He also appeared in four episodes of Law & Order playing the fictional Governor of New York, Don Shalvoy in 2009.
