The Corr siblings were awarded honorary MBEs in 2005 by Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of both their musical talent and their charitable work raising money for Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, victims of the Omagh Bombing, and other charities.

Sharon was born on March 24, 1970 in Dundalk, Country Louth, and Ireland.  She completed her study from same place with grace. Although her academic qualification has not yet disclosed in any site by now but it seems she has been a well educated woman in singing line as like other professional singers. Sharon Helga Corr is a member of the Irish pop/rock/Celtic musical group The Corrs. The other band members are her brother Jim and her sisters Andrea and Caroline. The Corrs' parents were musicians who strongly encouraged each of their children to pursue music. Sharon began learning violin at age six. Between the ages of 7 and 14 she played in the Redeemer Youth Orchestra of Country Louth.

Her first step on singing field was in 1991, when she along with her siblings first performed as a band when they auditioned to play in the musical film The Commitments. It was then when the movie's musical director John Hughes saw potential in the band and became their manager. Sharon plays violin in the band and provides harmonizing vocals, backing up her sister, lead singer Andrea Corr. Sharon often takes the lead in press interviews with the band. The band's music shows strong influences from traditional Celtic but also modern pop such as the Eagles and the Carpenters.

Later in 1994, The Corrs had landed a recording contact with producer David Foster of Atlantic Records (USA). Their debut album was "Forgiven, Not Forgotten" (1995), followed by "Talk on Corners" (1997), "In Blue" (2000) and "Borrowed Heaven" (2004). To date they have sold some 30 million albums. By the present time, The Corrs have performed on tour with musical acts U2, Celine Dion, and the Rolling Stones. Mick Jagger has commented "They blew us, the Stones, off our own stage". The Corrs have also appeared on Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and have made an MTV-sponsored "Unplugged" video. s well as "No Frontiers" with Caroline Corr, Sharon sings "Dimming of the Day" and the demo version of "Goodbye". In 1999 she recorded violin parts for the Jean Michel Jarre track "Rendez-vous à Paris", which was released in 2000 on the album Metamorphoses. She has also recorded two tracks in 2008 with the Welsh operatic singer Bryn Terfel, and "Amarrado a Ti" with the Spanish singer Alex Ubago in 2009.

Talking about her personal life, she had learnt to play violin when she was only 6 years old. She used to play in orchestra at her early time and later she became a qualified instructor. The beautiful singer got married to Belfast barrister in 2001 in Cratloe Church, County Clare. The couple met first time when she was shooting the video for "Runaway".
