Sandi Patty nicknamed for Sandra Faye Patty is an American Christian music singer. She has been known for her marvelous voice which has wide vocal range and expressive flexibility to led music critics to dub her “The Voice”.

The name that was given to her because, she is one of the most highly acclaimed performer of our time with five Grammy Awards, four Billboard Music Award, Three Platinum records, five gold records and eleven million units sold so far. She has been counted as the most awarded female vocalist in contemporary Christian music history, with 40 Dove Awards. She has been included into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2004 and as an Indiana Living Legend in 2007.

Sandi was born on July 12, 1956 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, into a family of musicians; her father was a minister of music, and her mother served as the church pianist. Her very first performance was at the age of 2, at that time she had sang “Jesus Loves Me” for her church, Phoenix First Church of God (Anderson, Indiana). She has spent her most of the time in Pheonix and then in San Diego. While living at Diego she and her brothers joined her parents in a performing group, known as "The Ron Patty Family", and sang at churches across the nation during summer holidays. Further more after graduating from Crawford High School in San Diego, she attended San Diego State University and Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, where she studied voice and conducting. While studying at Anderson University, she worked as a studio musician for area recording studios, singing background vocals and recording commercial jingles, including one for Juicy Fruit gum. Her reputation as a performer and studio singer grew during the late 1970s, and it was during this time that she initiated contact with legendary Christian musician Bill Gaither.

Sandi has performed with symphonies across the country, including the New York Pops, Boston Pops, Cincinnati Pops, Dallas Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Houston Symphony, and Oklahoma City Philharmonic. She also headlined the title role in sold out performances of the musical “Hello, Dolly!” with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, co-starring Tony Award winner Gary Beach in January 2012.

Apart from her prolific musical career, Sandi is also an accomplished author. To date her best-selling book is Broken on the Back Row, and for this book, she received the 2006 Silver Angel Award. Furthermore she has also been the writer of seven successful books. She is very humble person by nature, her down-to-earth personality have endeared her to Women of Faith® audiences, with whom she has traveled with since 2005.

She’s an example to all of us of the freedom that comes from learning how to move on, learning from her mistakes and letting God use her in any circumstance. Talking about her personal life, she is multiple times married woman. After her divorce with her former husband John Helvering in 1992, she later married to her second husband Don Pesils. The reason behind her divorce has been concluded that she had affair with a singer which came into light and finally broke her marriage. Later in 2009, she married again and at present she along with family relocated from Anderson, Indiana to Oklahoma City, Olkahoma. She has 8 children to take care of.

Award winning personality, Sandi is known for her versatility, creative nature and down-to-earth nature. Patty's versatility has allowed her to expand into other styles, such as black gospel, southern gospel, classic and modern pop, and American musical theater. So far by now, she has created a trademark for herself by exploiting her range to its fullest advantage, through the "power ballad" vehicle, sweeping orchestral gestures, and a series of key modulations building to a crescendo and signature high vocal ending.
