Nicole Mary Kidman is an American born Australian film actress, singer and producer. She was born on 20th of June, 1967. Her breakthrough role came in the 1989 movie Dead Calm and she started getting international recognition for her work in films such as Days of Thunder, Far and Away and Batman Forever. For her performance in the film Moulin Rouge! she was nominated for an Oscar and Golden Globe Award. She finally received an Academy Award for Best Actress for the 2002 drama film The House. She is also known for her performances in movies including Australia, The Paperboy, Dogville, The Others, Eyes Wide Shut, Birth, To Die For, Cold Mountain, Rabbit Hole and many others. She won the hearts of television audieinces with the TV movie Hemingway & Gellhorn. She is the founder and owner of the production company Blossom Films. Besides her acting career, she has been a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF since 1994 and for UNIFEM since 2006.

She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Australian parents who were there on educational visas. Her mother, Janelle Ann is a nursing instruction and her father, Anthony David Kidman is an author, clinical psychologist and biochemist. She has Irish and Scottish ancestry. The family moved back to Australia when Nicole was four years old. She has a younger sister, Antonia Kidman, who is a TV presenter and journalist. She studied at Lane Cove Public School and then at North Sydney Girl’s High School. She attended Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne, Victoria, Phillip Street Theater Australian Theater for Young People as well. She was interested in acting from a very young age and wanted to pursue it as a career as on growing up. She is a Roman Catholic and has dual citizenship of Australia and America.

She debuted into movies in 1983 with the remake of Bush Christmas. She slowly gained popularity as she was seen in Five Mile Creek, BMX Bandits, Windrider, A Country Practice, Vietnam and others. The 1989 thriller Dead Calm got her positive reviews and brought international recognition. Her Hollywood debut was the movie Days of Thunder in 1990 which was one of the highest grossing movies of the year. The rest of the 90s decade, she added much to her fame with Batman Forever, To Die For, The Peacemaker and Eyes Wide Shut. The 2000 decade followed suit with Moulin Rogue!, Cold Mountain, the Human Stain, Birth, The Stepford Wives, Australia and many others. She is the first Australian actress to win the Academy Awards, which she won for The House. As a singer, she collaborated with Ewan McGregor on Come What May, with Robbie Williams on Somethin’ Stupid and sang in the musical movie Nine.

Kidman had an on again/off again relationship with Tom Burlinson, her Windrider co-star for three years starting in the mid 80s. She had a live-in relationship with Marcus Graham, an Australian stage actor in the late 80s. She married Tom Cruise on Christmas Eve of 1990. She met him on the sets of Days of Thunder. Together, they adopted a baby girl, Isabella Jane and a boy Connor Anthony. They separated on February 5, 2001 and Cruise filed for divorce two days later. The divorce was finalized in August that year. She then got married to Keith on June 25, 2006. Her husband is an Australian country singer. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, in 2008. They had second daughter, Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, via surrogacy in 2010. She is living a happy family lives in her homes in Sydney, Nashville and Los Angeles.
