Major Lee Applewhite simply known as “Major Applewhite” is a former Co-offensive Coordinator and Quarterback coach of the ‘University of Texas’.This eminent Quarterbacks Coach was born on 26th July, 1978 in Baton Rouge, LA. In the year 1998, he was appointed as a quarterback for the ‘Texas Longhorns’. With his immense effort, Texas gained the victory over two ‘Big 12 Championship games’. The team also became victorious in 2 Bowl games where as they also set the 48 school records.

During the 1997 season, he went on to 8-2 as a starter. In the year 1999, he played each game which led the Texas to the victorious result of 9-4. He also held the Big 12 South Championship and Cotton Bowl. The team was ranked at 5th place with the amazing playing in that season. Applewhite again became the starter in the next season game. In the game, he suffered from the knee injury. His performance was not good at all. At that point his team finished at 7-2 record and was ranked at 19th place. In the entire season of 2001, he became the backup of Simms. Applewhit got an opportunity to play in one game where he showed his full ability and skills. In the next game, he got his next chance while Simms suffered from finger injury. With his entry in the game, the team started to perform better and ended with the result of 20-10. His miracle comeback in the team has led his team to win in that game. Due to his good performance in the game, he was again set in front as a starter for the final fame at 2001 Holiday Bowl. He didn’t disappoint to his teammates. Applewhite gave his best in that game which led Texas to score 23 points in just over 10 minutes. His amazing passes in the game was real enjoyed to watch. He even finished the game with setting record of 22-8 as a starter. After completing the graduation, he was signed to play for the New England Patriots. But he quit his decision to become a part of New England Patriot to finish his degree. Initially he worked as a graduate assistant prior pursuing his career in coaching. His first coaching work came at the ‘Syracuse University’. However, his first coaching work proves as a disaster. In 2006, he was appointed as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the Rice University. Under his leadership, his team gained the victory with 7-6 record. Later he was appointed as a head coach at the ‘Lowa State University’. In the year 2012, he was hired as co-offensive coordinator along with the wide receivers coach, Darrell Wyatt at the ‘Arkansas State University’. Currently, he is working as an offensive coordinator at the ‘Texas’.
