Jonathan Pryce is a Welsh actor and singer for his major profession till the date. He has been counted as one of the award wining actors, who has worked in many stage shows. One the award winning theatre performance was in the title role of the Royal Court Theatre’s Hamlet. He has been known as versatile actor of Hollywood. Pryce has participated in big-budget films such as Evita, Tomorrow Never Dies, Pirates of the Caribbean and The New World, GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra, GI Joe: Retaliation as well as independent films such as Glengarry Glen Ross and Carrington.

Talking about his previous life before he came in to media focuslight, Jonathan was born on June 1st, 1947 in Carmel, Flintshire, he is the son of Margaret Ellen and Isaac Price. His father was a former coal miner and used to run a small general grocery shop along with his mother. For his educational background, he was educated at Holywell Grammar School. When he was 16 years old, he went to arts college, and then he also started training to be a teacher at Edge Hill College. While studying, he took part in a college theatre production. After seeing his performance, an impressed tutor suggested him to become an actor. The tutor also sent him to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art for an application form, and Pryce was awarded a scholarship to RADA on Pyrce’s behalf.

In 1976 Pryce made his big screen debut in Voyage of the Damned (1976). It was his first step towards his success and ever since he has been known as one of Britain's leading actors of all time. He has won the 1995 Cannes Film Festival's Best Actor prize for his starring role as the Bloomsbury Group critic and biographer Lytton Strachey in Christopher Hampton's Carrington. He was also nominated for Best Actor in a Musical for his starring role as Fagin in Lionel Bart's Oliver. Pryce has won Best Actor Tony Awards for his Broadway performances as the skinhead stand-up in Trevor Griffiths's The Comedians and as the star of Miss Saigon. Pryce's versatility and multifaceted talent rarely had a chance to take him beyond playing freaks and villains in film. He has been managing at great level to overcome in his numerous stage performances also including few films and TV works. During his career in big screen he went on playing a range of characters marked with sophistication and depth, such as his subtle and nuanced portrayal of author Lytton Strachey in Carrington (1995). He has appeared as the timid Jamaican Governor Wetherby Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), and the sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), and the third installment of the Pirates franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007).

Apart from his big screen films, he has also made many impressive television drama appearances, including Selling Hitler for channel 4 and Mr. Wroe’s Virgins for BBC.

Talking about his personal life including affairs and marriage, he has been with his partner, actress Kate Fahy since 1974. They had met each other at the Everyman Theatre Liverpool Company. They were not married but had two sons, Patrick and Gabriel, and a daughter, Phoebe. They are still together but their marriage is still a matter of suspense for his fans and followers.
