Jesse Lee Soffer is an American actor for the big and small screen. He was born in the year 1984 and celebrates his birthday on April 23, every year. He is best known for his role as Will Munson on As the World Turns. He received three Emmy nominations for the role. Currently, he stars as Detective Jay Halstead, in the Intelligence Unit in the Chicago Fire spin-off Chicago P.D..
He is a native of Ossining, New York was born and spent most of his early life there. He was welcomed to the family as the son of Stan and Jill Soffer. He has three half-sisters and a half-brother. His family was constantly on the move around Ossining and Tarrytown before finally settling down at Connecticut. He attended classes at New York University (NYU).
Soffer started his acting career at the young age of six when in a Kix cereal commercial. In 1993, he debuted into feature film in the movie Matinee. After that, he was cast in the family drama Safe Passage as the son of Susan Sarandon and Sam Shepard Percival. He played the role of Bobby Brady in the 1995movie, The Brady Bunch Movie and reprised his role for A Very Brady Sequel, the next year. Then he starred as a runaway turned sleuth Jamie Kincaid in the TV movie From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. He also worked with director Richard Shepard in AMC's longform presentation, The Royale. In the year 1998, he was cast as a series regular on popular ABC sitcom, Two of a Kind. In 1999, he originated the role of Max Nickerson on the CBS daytime soap opera serial Guiding Light. After four months on the show, he turned his focus on studies and attended The Gunnery a boarding school in Washington, Connecticut. After graduating, he realized that he still had passion for acting and once again began to actively pursue the acting career. In 2004, he landed the role of Will Munson on As the World Turns, which he portrayed until 2008 and earned three Emmy nominations for his role. He returned to movies with the independent film Gracie. In July 2010, he resumed the role of Will on As the World Turns. He appeared as guest star on numerous TV series such as CSI: Miami, The Mentalist and Rizzoli & Isles. Soffer’s character was introduced in the second season of Chicago Fire and he currently appears on the Chicago Fire spin-off Chicago P.D. as Detective Jay Halstead.
