Born Gale Morgan Harold III on July 10, 1969, is a celebrated American actor for the big and small screen and stage. He is better known by his professional name. He has gained wide recognition for his roles on The Secret Circle, Hellcats, Queer as Folk and Desperate Housewives. He has also added several films and theatricals to his credit.

He is a native of Decatur, Georgia, United States as he was born there to a real estate agent mother and engineer father. He has an older sister, Ann and a younger brother, David. He was born to a Pentecostal family and his parents were devout Pentecostals. He left church at the age of 15. He graduated from The Lovett School in Atlanta, Georgia. He played soccer during that time and earned his way into Amercian University in Washington, D.C., with a soccer scholarship. There he enrolled in Liberal Arts degree in romance literature but left it after a year and half following a dispute with his coach. He changed paths and moved to San Francisco, California to study photography at the San Francisco Art Institute. He worked odd jobs like construction worker and motorcycle technician before a friend of his recommended him to try his hands at acting. Following her advice he took 3 year intensive course to study drama and finally got accepted into the Actors Conservatory Program at the age of 18.

He debuted in the theater world with Me and My Friends as Bunny. After that, he was cast in the popular Showtime gay drama Queer as Folk portraying the role of Brian Kinney in the year 2000. Then in 2003, he starred in Wake. He also played the lead role in the short-lived FOX series Vanished as Special Agent Graham Kelton in 2006. The same year he had a guest role in the HBO series Deadwood and The Unit by CBS. On 15 November 2006, he was cast in the play Suddenly, Last Summer, by Tennessee Williams at the New York stage and in a few off-Broadway productions at the Roundabout Theater. He joined the popular series Desperate Housewives for its fourth season as Jackson Braddock in 2008 and returned for an episode in 2009. In 2010, he was cast in the series Hellcats as a law professor, but the show got cancelled after one season. Then he was cast in the CW series The Secret Circle, but the series too got cancelled. He played the male lead in the indie romantic comedy Falling for Grace and has also appeared in other movies like Low Fidelity, Passenger Side, Fertile Ground, Scott Walker: 30 Century Man, Rehab and a few others.

Gale prefers to keep his personal life way from the media. He has not yet revealed any of his past relationships. It is hard to tell if he is dating anyone or is single. From what we know, he has not married till now and without ever getting married there is no question of divorce. When it comes to his private life, he is tight lipped about it. Because he portrayed a gay character in the series Queer as Folk, there was an ongoing speculation about her sexuality and he was rumored to be gay!
