He was born to reporter father Mike Wallace and mother Norma Kaphan. After the parents of him got divorced, he went to live with his stepfather. His step father CBS News President Bill Leonard gave him chance to see media field in small age of 14. He in 1964 Republican National Convention worked as Assistant to Walter Cronkite.
