Christine Jansing, popularly known by her professional name, Chris Jansing, is an American television news correspondent. She was born in the year 1957 and celebrates her birthday on January 30, every year. Currently, she works as the Senior White House Correspondent for NBC News. She is also known as the host of an MSNBC show called Jansing and Company. She hosted the show for four years, from 2010 to 2014.
She was born in Fairport, Ohio, United States as Christine Ann Kapostasy. She was born as the youngest of twelve children, to parents, Tily and Joseph Kapostasy. She was raised as a Roman Catholic and follows it as her religion. She has a mixed ethnicity of Hungarian and Slovak. Little is known about her family and early childhood. About her education, she was originally majoring in political science. During that time, she worked for the college radio station, which drew her into journalism. She decided to switch her majors to broadcast journalism. She graduated from Otterbein College in Ohio in the year 1978.
Right after her graduation, she started her career in broadcasting journalism as an intern at a cable station in Columbus, Ohio. After that, she accepted work for a short time at WPIS radio station in Ticonderoga, New York. Then, she moved to WNYT television in Albany, New York to become a general assignment reporter. She was quickly promoted to weekend anchor and then became the weekly co-anchor. She continued her work at WNYT for 17 years. During her work there, was awarded the prestigious New York Emmy Award for her coverage of Olympic Park Bombing in Atlanta, Georgia, in the year 1999. In June 1998, she left WNYT for NBC. Since then, she has served as the fill in anchor for The Today Show and NBC Nightly News’s Sunday version. She was relocated to Los Angeles to work as a field reporter. She continued as a field reporter for two years before returning back as an anchor in 2010. She was the host of Jansing and Company until its end on June 13, 2014. Then, she became the Senior White House Correspondent for NBC.
She gets her last name from her ex-husband Robert Jansing. Her husband is a chemist who ran an analytical chemistry laboratory. She started using her then husband’s last name as he joined NBC in 1998, because it was easier to pronounce than her birth name. Unfortunately for her, their married life did not last long and they divorced but she still continues to use his last name. She does not have any children and does not have a boyfriend at the moment. She lives a high life, all thanks to her handsome salary.
