One reputed and a famous private American University of Chicago, Illinois, National Louis University stands strong as one of the few active colleges to have been a non-profit institution and that in different parts of the States. Located to the two most active cities of US and one in Poland, this college happens to be one of the old institutions of Chicago which started as a state of the art motto of Wisdom Dignity and Judgment, and which is the largest of the ones in the city with over thousand active students to its name. NLU as the common abbreviation of its name, it was founded in the year of 1886 which defines its prolonged stay in the States.
The foundation of NLU is also one to be known about. The college was the first of its kind to have played one very important role in the history of education and the first of its character on the year 1888 and that by founding the ecstatic National Kindergarten Movement, and also the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) which was established to overview the then unknown importance of academic as well as professional training in the childhood education theory and also focus on the practice. The name National Louis University was the first choice model when movement was considered enticing as well as encouraging to many of the nationwide institutes. With that done, the year 1877 saw the inauguration and launch of operations of the new named Chicago Kindergarten Training School. The name changing then went onto same more years, gradually moving upwards from the CKTS to Chicago Kindergarten College (CKC) in 1893 and then National Kindergarten and Elementary College (NKEC) in 1912 and finally coming onto halt at National College of Education (NCE) 1930. Becoming a part of the National Kindergarten Association of the Chicago was also a key factor to the change of the institutional name of the NLU with the inclusion of the ‘National’ part. When the NLU started to offer the degrees relating to various faculties like four-year college program in Bachelor part, it was considered appropriate to name the College, a City University and hence National Louis University was founded. Then the year 1920 brought the so-called Hull-House naming educational opportunities to its aid and for the poor and immigrant population and from there the institution was overseen to run as smoothly by the Board of Directors of the institute.
It was not easy for the NLU to make it this far on easy basis. The hurdles were the destined prospects of problems to the NLU and it had to pass each one to face the next. But that did not head-back the NLU from getting up-close and personal with its aim. The hurdles appeared in various forms, one of which being the College Division. It was not at all easy for the NLU as it was as good as it got when faculties of education rattled the foundations of the NLU. Either be a student, teacher or the any other member, all were signing up to take up a coaching class for themselves at the time of asking and provided facility. This left a supportive NLU on its peak as it was named one of the major educational hubs for the College Track and the faculty students. This was all due to the promotion of the NLU to the academic excellence through the provision of world-class facilities in coaching and classes. One Nivine Megahed is a complete example of the NLU’s excellence, Megahed was a full-time president of the university and as a result he won the title for the institution for its academic excellence. Many known people have won considerable titles all to the courtesy of the excellence of the National Louis University.
Not only this, the after-turbulent time was kind of fruitful for the NLU when the craze of the names of available facilities used by Megahed was reaching a never-before-seen height. The following years saw NLU as one of the few colleges to have been a host of the major study degrees and that saw students flowing over to make way to get a part in the courses. The American Association of University Professors also was a major part for the NLU and its students to show-off their inner skills in a good range. This sudden but sustained increase in the flow of events had the NLU to renovate and build the infrastructures needed for the students to get into and improve. This was the start to life of major men and women category of the interested subject. When the increase in the students was seen, it was without the doubt for the NLU to get itself a new and improved division of colleges such as National College of Education, College of Arts and Sciences and the most wanted of them all College of Management and Business. If Arts had a building of its own then it was obvious for the Science division to ask one for itself and thus the field for the course was formed. All these renovations and re-building was an unknown and obvious step of NLU slowly turning into a one classified college.
Then came the fresh and exciting yet one challenging step, the Next Campus Part. When the number of the enrolling International Students did get on the front foot, the college was now facing the increase in rate of students at 30%. The demands of the new technology based era were catching up to NLU’s Board Members which lead to the adding of the New Downtown Campus, a one with so rare and excellent technology that it got the NLU to be the first ever institution of Chicago to offer it to the students. When that was accomplished, NLU was now offering a whopping six floors of history just for the subjects relating to the educational needs of the students and also the Peoples Gas Building. Being in the state-of-the-art era for some considerable time has lead NLU to become a socially active institute which has performed in about thousands of periodical articles whenever in need for the students both on and off-campus.
