Jamestown Community College is a two-year college. The main campus JCC is located in the city of Jamestown in Chautauqua County, New York, United States. It was founded in the year 1950 and was the first community college in the State University of New York (SUNY) system. The college operates through its two extension centers – North County Extension Center, in Dunkrik, and Warren Center in Warren, Pennsylvania and online. The college offers degree and certificate programs in many areas. JCC is a student-centered, comprehensive, open access, regional institution that holds academic excellence and meets learning needs of the service areas in various ways. The college has active partnership with the greater community that contributes to the economic development, cultural enrichment and social and intellectual improvement. JCC has received accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Similarly, the nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and the occupational therapy assistant program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association and is also approved by the New York State Division of Veterans' Affairs for the training of veterans and other eligible persons.

The college offers Associate Degree, Associate in Arts Degree, Associate in Science Degree and Associate in Applied Science degrees in 35 areas. It also has certificate programs for specific skill development and immediate employment upon completion in 20 courses which take a year to be completed. In addition to that, JCC also offers a variety of online programs and courses distributed into Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Science and Certificates. JCC provides experimental learning through internships, working and learning abroad and performing original research. JCC’s Honors Program delivers encouraging academic opportunities for selected students through additional challenges, supports, and ways to learn. Honors students enroll in special, honors-designated courses, engage in co-curricular activities, and take on fieldwork projects that synthesize academic and lived experiences. The college also has Developmental Studies (DS) Program which is designed for full-time students whose placement scores have indicated a need to strengthen academic skills in reading, writing, and/or math, prior to acceptance into their desired academic program. JCC students have a great opportunity to study abroad through the college’s membership in the College of the Consortium of International Studies.  JCC currently enrolls 3,500 full-time and part-time credit students at two campuses, two extension centers, and online and approximately 40% of its graduates transfer to four-year colleges and universities all over the nation and has transfer agreements with 41 colleges/universities.

JCC not only provides quality education but also makes sure that the students enjoy their student life, no matter how brief it is, for academic, personal, and professional development of the students. The collaborative campus life programming allows the students to take part in numerous co-curricular and social options that support the mission of the college, complement academic programs, and enhance the overall educational experience. For this, JCC has a number of chartered clubs and organizations including but not limited to: cultural, academic, professional, special interest, recreational, and honor societies. JCC provides on-campus living to 340 residents served on a first come, first served basis. In association with Lessing’s Food Management Inc., JCC provides a balanced, comprehensive meal program for students, faculty, staff, and the greater college community on the Jamestown Campus. The college has several student services such as College Health Services, Academic Advising, Academic Support Services, Peer Mentoring, Disability Support Services, Veterans Affairs, Counseling and Career Development and Student Discounts. JCC is quite popular for various sports activities and is a member of the Western New York Athletic Conference and Region III of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The Jamestown teams are known as the Jayhawks and the Cattaraugus County teams are the Jaguars. The club sports include baseball, basketball, soccer, swimming/diving, volleyball, wrestling, softball and golf. Jamestown Community College provides financial aid opportunities within keeps it within the reach of every qualified student. The financial aid comes in the form of grants, loans, scholarships and student employment. JCC proudly boasts of the fact that 8 out of 10 full-time students receive some type of financial aid. One of JCC's largest and most successful scholarship programs is the USA (Unified Student Assistance) scholarship is awarded to students who graduate within the top 20% of their high school class, covers the amount of NYS resident tuition, minus Pell, TAP and PHEAA.

One of the recognized institutions of higher learning in the United States, Jamestown Community College is spread across 107 acres in Jamestown, the southwestern corner of New York and has space for all.
