Becker College is a private, co-educational college for higher education located in central Massachusetts, United States of America with campuses in Leicester, Mass and Worcester. The history of Becker College dates over hundred years back as it was founded in 1887 by Edward Carl Anton (E.C.A.) Becker in Worcester, Massachusetts who also served as its president from 1887 through 1907. The college comprises two separate campuses located six miles apart, each with its own residence halls, library, dining hall and academic facilities. Becker’s Leicester campus began as an academy in 1784. Three years after the Leicester Academy centennial, in 1887, Becker's Business College was founded. In 1974, Becker and Leicester started working together to expand academic offerings and provide broader social and recreational opportunities for their students. As a result, the two formally consolidated in 1977 as the Worcester campus and Leicester campus of Becker College. The college serves 1,902 students that come from more than 31 states and 15 countries and offers over 30 undergraduate degree programs and numerous adult learning options as well. The College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. (NEASC) at the associate and bachelor levels and is further accredited by American Veterinary Medical Association Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN).

The academic programs at Becker College prepare students for future professional and career opportunities. Becker offers 30 degree programs at the Bachelor, Associate, and Accelerated Degree level. The college has been roughly divided into six departments. The School of Animal Studies has major in Animal Care (associate’s degree), Equine Studies, Laboratory Animal Management, Pre-Veterinary, Veterinary Science/Clinical Medicine and Laboratory Animal Medicine and Veterinary Technology (associate’s degree). The Design department consists of Communications Design, Game Design, Game Development and Programming, Graphic Design and Interior Design. The department of Business has majors in Computer Information Systems, Big Data Analytics, Business Administration, Equine Management, Hospitality and Tourism, Management, Marketing and Sports Management. The Education, Psychology & Liberal Arts department offers majors in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood and Youth Education, Elementary Education, Forensic Psychology, Liberal Arts, Psychology and Psychology/Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). Furthermore, the Criminal Justice and Legal Studies department consists of Forensic Science/Crime Scene Processing, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Domestic Counter Terrorism Studies: Policy and Management, Policing/Law Enforcement and Pre-Law majors. The department of Nursing, Exercise Science & Biology has majors in Nursing, Nursing (Associate’s degree), Nursing (RN–BSN), Nursing (Bachelor's degree), Exercise Science and Biology. Finally, the Data Science offers BS in Data Science. The Becker College Center for Accelerated & Professional Studies offers programs that are designed to provide adult learners with flexible degree and certificate program options.

In addition to providing quality education, Becker College also makes sure that the students enjoy their college life. It provides students with a wide range of social, cultural, athletic, and recreational events and opportunities. For this there are several organizations on campus, such as the Black Student Union/ALANA–Multicultural Club, Animal Health Club, Gay Straight Alliance, Campus Activities Board, Game Development Club, Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA), Dance Team, Drama Club, Mazunte Turtle Project Club, Music Club, National Student Nurses Association, Ski/Snowboard Club, Student Alumni Society, Student Government Association, the student news blog (The Becker Journal Online), and the Yearbook Club. Becker College offers a unique style of on-campus living with a vibrant and safe living environment that fosters personal development and independence where students can experience living in renovated Victorian-style houses or traditional style residence halls. Becker College is also known for its sports activities. The college currently fields 16 intercollegiate athletic teams that compete in the Division III level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Besides its affordable tuition fees, Becker college boasts of the fact that 92% of its students are provided financial aid. Becker offers both gift aid and self-help aid. Gift aid includes grants and scholarships. Self-help aid includes federal Stafford loans, federal work-study, and alternative financing options. The programs vary from merit-based aid to need-based with many awards based on a combination of both factors. Becker College serves its students through Counseling Services, Center for Career Education, Computer Labs, Bookstore, Academic Advising, Collaborative Learning Center, International Student Services, Shuttle Service, Health and Wellness and many others.

The Worcester campus is located on Sever Street in the residential Elm Park neighborhood. The Leicester campus is adjacent to the historic center of that town. Becker is located in the heart of New England’s second largest city offering a wide range of recreational, cultural, and entertainment options near both campuses, ranging from museums and art festivals to concert venues and professional sporting events. With the history of over a hundred and twenty five years, Becker College has now grown to enroll more than 1,900 students annually.
