Located in Bronx, New York, United States of America, the Bronx Community College of The City University of New York (BCC) is a public, two-year community college. It was established in the year 1957 after a decade of effort primarily to meet the growing need for increased higher education facilities in the Bronx area. The classes formally started with 125 students on February 2, 1959. It is part of the City University of New York system. In conjunction with their academic mission, Bronx Community College offers a number of programs that provide a range of services designed to meet the needs of special groups within the communities we serve. Bronx Community College provides comprehensive range of personal enrichment and workforce community development courses and programs through Continuing & Professional Studies (CPS). CPS also provides tailored training for local employers and works closely with unions, city, state and federal agencies and accepts vouchers and other forms of financial aid for individual students. BCC provides academic programs in traditional face-to-face classroom setting and online learning courses which may be partially or fully online.

The Bronx Community College awards 35 Academic Programs where the students get to choose from a wide range of associate degree and certificate programs. The college offers Associate in Arts Degree (A.A.) in Criminal Justice and Liberal Arts and Sciences. The Associate in Science Degree (A.S.) can be obtained in various courses such as Biotechnology, Business Administration, Community/School Health Education, Computer Science, Dietetics and Nutrition Science, Engineering Science, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Mathematics, Media and Digital Film Communication, Science for Forensics and Therapeutic Recreation. The Associate in Applied Sciences Degree (AAS) Accounting, Automotive Technology, Computer Information Systems, Digital Arts, Education Associate, Electronic Engineering Technology, Energy Services and Technology, Environmental technology, Human Services, Marketing Management, Media Technology, Medical Office Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technician, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Nursing, Office Administration and Technology, Ornamental Horticulture, Paralegal Studies, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technology, Radiologic Technology and Telecommunications Technology. The Certificate Programs (CERT) is available in Animal Care Management, Assistant of Children with Special Needs, Automotive Mechanics, Early Childhood Assistance, Bilingual Early Childhood Assistance, Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) and Paralegal Certificate Program.

BCC offers a varied campus life that allows students to meet new people and develop leadership skills. It also makes sure that the students there have a thriving life and provides facilities necessary to ensure that. The college not only strives to enhance the academic experience through involvement in campus life but also support student to contribute to their educational mission, leadership strengths, personal growth, and a community contribution. The university encourages active student life with over 35 student clubs and organizations that unite students to BCC's academic, social, and cultural campus life. It ensures that the students get to experience Greek Life through its honor societies Alpha Beta Gamma, Phi Theta Kappa, Tau Alpha Pi and Chi Alpha Epsilon. BCC currently does not have any form of on campus housing available to students but provides food services through the college café, au bon pain. It has student services that provides numerous of programs and procedures which assist the students in various ways offered through Academic Computer Labs, Campus Bookstore, Career and Transfer Services, Counseling Services, Disability Services, Technology Service Center, Enrollment Services, Veteran and Military Resources, Public Safety and Student Support Services. The university also encourages students to take part in physical activities with numerous group exercise programs and classes offered along with personal training. Bronx Community College teams participate as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The men’s sports include Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, Cross Country and Track & Field and the women’s sports include Basketball, Cross Country, Track & Field and Volleyball.  Known as the Broncos, represented by the color green and white BCC is a member of the community college section of the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC). BCC also boasts of its huge library with using the state of the art technology. In addition to its affordable fees, also provides various financial aid opportunities which keep it within the reach of every qualified student. The financial aid may be offered in many forms such as grants, loans, student employment and scholarships.  The Federal Pell Grant is money awarded by the federal government that can be used to pay students tuition, or, if tuition is covered by other means, help to buy books and supplies, or pay for transportation costs. Federal Perkins Loan is a low interest (5%) loan awarded by CUNY to help meet student's educational expenses. Academic scholarships can supplement the funding or be an alternate source of funding for education.
