Strayer University is a private, profit motive University established in 1892. Located in the United States of America the college was established as Strayer’s Business College and later named as Strayer College before being granted university status in 1998. Accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the College shelters around 40,000 students which include students through its online learning programs and 100 campuses located in 24 states of United States. The university serves specialized degree programs for working adults and provides undergraduate and graduate degrees in various subjects which include accounting, business administration, criminal justice, education, and health service administration.
The founder of Strayer’s Business College Dr. Siebert Irving Strayer established the college to teach the business skills to the former farm workers which put in shorthand, typing and accounting in 1892. The college was the located in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. Its effective programs caught the attraction of students outside the states too which pushed Strayer to open a branch of the school in Washington, D.C. to meet the demand of the growing number of students. Washington, D.C’s board of education authorized the college to shelter collegiate degrees in accountancy. In 1959 the college moved another step toward success when it was given right to confer two-year degrees. The college was named Strayer College in 1969 when it was granted four-year Bachelor of Arts degrees.
The time between 1980s to the late 1990s sketches the glorious time of the college as the number of students increased rapidly during this time. Enrollment increased from around 1,800 in 1981 to 20,000 in 1983. In 1997 the enrollment reached 9,000. The college expanded its horizon of working, expanding the number of programs and curriculum available. The college was given an authorization to run Master of Science degrees in 1987. The college started focusing on information technology courses during 1990s. In 1996 the college launched Strayer Online to offer the various programs to its students through internet.
After the dedication and hard work over decades, the college was granted university status in 1998 by the District of Columbia Education Licensure Commission, nearly after a century of its establishment. To meet the growing demand of its students Strayer University expanded the number of colleges working under it. It established its first campus locations outside of Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Florida. In today’s date the college has further expanded it working field operating additional colleges in Delaware, New Jersey, Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Utah, Indiana, Illinois. - A minimum cumulative score of 450 on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)

-A 2.75 undergraduate grade point average on a 4.0 scale during the junior and senior years of the Baccalaureate degree (that is, the second half of the credits required for the degree, normally the last 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours).
-Evidence of graduate potential. Special consideration may be given to applicants who show graduate potential and have a minimum three years professional or business experience. A personal interview with a Campus Dean is required.
