Located in Parkville, Missouri, “Park University” is an independent, non-profit private institution of ‘higher education’. The University has total 40 campuses with having center locations in 21 states. Initially, the University was named Park College when it was established in the year 1875. The college was founded by John A. McAfee when land was donated by George S. Park. There were only 17 students in its first year. McAfee held his responsibility of president until 1890. Later his son ‘Lowell M. McAfee’ held the responsibility of president of Park. The defining landmark of campus is ‘Mackay hall’ which was named after ‘Carroll County, Illinois’. Carroll donated huge amount of $25,000 in materials for the structure. The further construction process started in the year 1883 and it was finished by the year 1893. In its initial days, the school was affiliated with ‘Presbyterian Church’. Since 1889, the college has good relationship with the military. In the late period of 1960s, the relationship was further expanded with the establishment of ‘Military Degree Completion Program’. The current working president of the University is ‘David Fowler’ and the vice president is ‘Jerry D. Jorgensen, Ph.D.’.

The admission process of this University is very competitive. The process of admission depends upon student type, preferred Campus and program. The students have to meet some criteria to get admission in the University. The freshman must have secured high school Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or above ( on a 4.0 scale). The University assessment scores will be required for those students who wants placement in English and mathematical purpose. Those students who are qualify for ‘Missouri’s A-Plus Program’ can automatically get admission in Park University. For the freshman who doesn’t meet two criteria, the University must require 2.0 GPA score, rank in upper 50% of class and/or they must have secured ACT composite score of 20 or combined SAT score of 940. For the transfer students, the students must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA in all the previous study. The transfer students with less than 24 hours must submit an official high school transcript or ‘GED’.

The athletic team of the University ‘Pirate Sports Network’ frequently took part in the various competitions. The University competes in ‘National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as being a member of ‘American Midwest Conference (AMC)’. There are separate sports available for the both men and women. Men can get enjoyment from the sports like baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer, volleyball and track & field.
