Alyssa Raghunandan is an Indo-Guyanese singer and songwriter who dreams of becoming the next American Idol.

The 15-year-old singer auditioned for the show on March 11 and wowed the judges with her rendition of Ariana Grande’s ‘Almost is Never Enough.’

Katy Perry even went on to say that Alyssa would make it to the Top 10 in the show and handed her the golden ticket to Hollywood.

Alyssa is no stranger to performing as she has starred in the Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical, ‘In the Heights.’

She has her own YouTube channel, Alyssa Raghu, where she uploads a wide range of cover songs.

Her first song, Leave, was released in August 2017 and is available to download on iTunes and Spotify.

Alyssa’s parents got divorced when she was just two years old, and she has been living with father ever since.

She calls her father, Hansraj Raghunandan, her best friend and her inspiration for attaining her dream of becoming a singer.

Alyssa recently shared a picture on her twitter account which shows that she still is close with her mother.

Apart from her musical career, she is a sophomore at Lake Nona High School and is intent on becoming the next American Idol.
