NBC’s The Voice recently wrapped its fifteenth season on December 18, 2018. Team Kelly Clarkson’s Chevel Shepherd won the season beating out Team Blake’s Chris Kroeze and Kirk Jay and Team JHud’s Kennedy Holmes. As of now, Chevel has a lot to look forward to including spending the $100,000 grand prize and Universal Music Group record deal.

Not all The Voice winners have gone on to become recording superstars, but viewers expect a lot more from Chevel, who is already planning to work on a country album with Kelly. While Chevel is rejoicing her recent The Voice triumph, we take some time to take you back to the life of previous winners whom you’ve yearned for.  So, where are The Voice Winners now? 

Javier Colon – Season 1

Shortly after Javier was crowned the inaugural winner of The Voice, he had a falling out with the record label, Universal Republic. So far, he has released four albums, and more recently, he has been featured in Jason Farris Brown aka Colt Ford’s new song, No Rest.

Jermaine Paul – Season 2

While Jermaine’s cover of I Believe I Can Fly did well on the Billboard charts, a full album never followed. However, he never stopped traveling all around the USA, and his social media says he is still kicking show. Currently, he can be spotted in Boston.

Cassadee Pope – Season 3

In Cassadee’s early career, it might have been all about rock n’ roll, but after her win, she found success in the country music world. The first female winner released her first album, Frame by Frame, on Oct 8, 2018, which reached No. 9 on the Billboard 200.

Danielle Bradbery – Season 4

After winning the fourth season, Danielle released her self-titled album on November 25, 2013, which peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard 200. In 2015, she toured with country music stars, Brett Eldredge and Thomas Rhett. In 2019, she will be joining Kane Brown on the Live Forever tour.

Tessanne Chin – Season 5

By far, the only foreign-born contestant, Tessanne released her first studio album, Count On My Love, on July 1, 2014, which reached No. 41 on the Billboard 200. She served as a guest judge on Jamaican version of The Voice, Digicel Rising Stars in 2018. She also appeared in Jamaican movie, Glory to God.

Josh Kaufman – Season 6

While many expected the first “stolen” contestant to make some music, he got into Broadway shows and played the title in Tony-winning musical Pippin. As of now, he is engaged in the Broadway shows and has more recently performed on the 33rd IPL Yuletide Celebration.

Craig Wayne Boyd – Season 7

The coronation single, My Baby’s Got a Smile On Her Face, which peaked at No. 1 on the Hot Country Singles chart, helped cement his popularity among viewers. He got married to model Taylor Borland in 2016. They welcomed a daughter in 2015 and a son, Graydon in December 2017. He has a son, Jaxon from his previous relationship. Talking about his post-The Voice life, he told Popculture.country in 2018,

I feel like I’ve found my place like family-wise, which has helped me a lot. I don’t think I take myself as seriously as I used to. Maybe I took myself a little too seriously before. Now it’s just all about having fun.

Sawyer Fredericks – Season 8

He received much expected commercial success after releasing self-titled extended play in 2015, which is followed by a studio album, A Good Storm, in 2016. Sawyer parted ways with Universal Republic Records in 2017. He is currently on a tour, which is set to end in January 2019, to support his latest album, Hide Your Ghost.

Jordan Smith – Season 9

Soon after being named the winner of season 9, Jordan released his debut single, Stand in the Light, which preceded his album, Something Beautiful, in March 2016. In 2018, he wrote Ashes, which was performed by Celine Dion for Deadpool 2 and released his sophomore album, Only Love.

Alisan Porter – Season 10

Prior to the Blind Auditions, Alisan, who appeared on Curly Sue in 1991, was a household name. Till date, she has released two albums, Alisan Porter and Who We Are. In spring 2018, she appeared in The Voice: Neon Dreams in Las Vegas. More recently, she returned to The Voice as a guest adviser for its Snapchat show.

Sundance Head – Season 11

The American Idol season 6 semi-finalist and The Voice season 11 winner’s single Darlin’ Don’t Go made it to the No. 4 Spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart. Later, he continued performing for live performances and went on tour with Zac Brown Band and Blake Shelton. As of now, he is working hard on his upcoming album, Stained Glass and Neon. In Jan 2019, he’ll perform at the Mountain High Film Festival in Colorado.

Chris Blue – Season 12

In less than a year after the win, Chris has been busy working in his studio album and performing to sold-out crowds in his home state of Tennessee. He will perform in Christmas at the Smoky Mountain Opry, a holiday show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, which is set to end in Jan 2019.

Chloé Kohanski – Season 13

Chloe released her very first single Come This Far on May 22, 2018, which is the first single for her upcoming 2019 album. She returned for the season 14 finale and performed her newest track. She has also appeared on an episode of Beat Bugs.

Brynn Cartelli – Season 14

Since winning the competition, Brynn has been doing live performances including at Fenway Park, the Nantucket Trashion Show and on the Today show. The youngest to win the show in its history, Brynn signed with Atlantic Records in December 2018. She is set to open up for the former coach, Kelly, on her Meaning of Life Tour, which will start on Jan 24, 2019.
