Get your Netflix membership renewed or make a new account if you don’t have one already because you are not going to run short on new things to watch. From its original content to adaptations of old series, it looks like the streaming giant is not in a mood of slowing down anytime soon. Today, we are breaking down ten Netflix projects that are currently in development. These said projects are in different stages of their production, and the names of some of the projects have just been released. 

#10. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina 

After the immense success of CW’s Riverdale, Netflix is bringing another story from the world of Archie comics. Chilling Adventure of Sabrina is currently under development as a Netflix original series. The series will focus on the center character, Sabrina Spellman played by Kiernan Shipka. The show, which was being developed at The CW as a prequel for Riverdale, was moved to Netflix with a straight-to-series order. The first season of the series will be released on October 26, 2018.

#9. The Spy  

Comedian, Sacha Baron Cohen, is set to star in the Netflix original miniseries, The Spy. The six-episode miniseries is a drama about the life of Israel’s secret service agent, Eli Cohen. The series is being co-produced by Canal+ and Netflix. The release date is not yet confirmed but the airing of the show in France will be handled by OCS, and Netflix will stream it internationally. 

#8. The Politician   

The streaming giant has made a deal with director Ryan Murphy for two seasons of The Politician. This comedy-drama will focus on the political passion of Payton portrayed by Ben Platt, who deals with the difficulties of his new political life. Ben will share the screen with big stars like Barbra Streisand and Academy Award winner, Gwyneth Paltrow.

#7. Fast and Furious Animated series

Netflix has made a deal with Dreamworks Animation Studios for the animated series of the Fast & the Furious franchise. Following the huge successes of Trollhunters and Voltron: Legendary Defender, Netflix is hoping to acquire a big number of viewers with this animated series. The show will revolve around the life of Dominic Toretto’s cousin, Tony, who like his cousin, mixes up with the International underworld crime groups and participates in street racing.

#6. She-Ra and the Princess of Power

Netflix and Dreamworks Animation are working together on another animated original series, She-Ra and the Princess of Power. The series is a reboot of the 1985 animated fantasy show, She-Ra: Princess of Power. Complete season one will air on 26 November 2018 on Netflix.

#5. Apostle

Gareth Evans’ action thriller, Apostle, will be the one to keep an eye out for in 2018. The movie is set in 1905. Thomas Richardson, portrayed by Dan Stevens, travels to a remote land to rescue his sister from a fanatical religious cult which has captured her for ransom. Apostle will be available on Netflix on October 12, 2018.

#4. Hold the Dark    

Hold the Dark is another movie set to come out this year in Netflix. This upcoming thriller is about a biologist who travels to the wilderness of Alaska to study the behavior of some wolves who have caused disturbance and attacked the villagers. Alexander Skargård, Riley Keough, Jeffrey Wright, James Badge Dale are some of the main cast of this project. The movie will be available on Netflix on September 28, 2018.    

#3. The Irishman  

The Irishman was originally developed for the big screen but due to its growing budget, many production companies like Paramount Pictures and STX Entertainment dropped their rights off the movie. In 2017, Netflix brought the picture for $105 million and set the release date for 2019. The Irishman is a biographical movie about an American labor union leader, Frank Sheeran. Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Anna Paquin, Bobby Cannavale, Harvey Keitel and Ray Romano are among the main cast of this movie.

#2. Stranger Things 3

Stranger Things is one of the best series on Netflix, and it didn’t take that long to become everyone’s favorite. With season one and two becoming big hits, a lot is expected from season three. The show will begin around 1985 when the kids have just started high school. Most of the cast will remain same in the third season but four new members will join the cast including Maya Hawke who will portray the character of Robin.

#1. Maniac

This might just be the biggest show which is currently in production on Netflix. Maniac is a dark comedy series based on a Norwegian show of the same name, which is currently being directed by Cary Fukunaga. The show stars Academy Award nominee, Jonah Hill and Academy Award winner, Emma Stone. It is scheduled to premiere on September 21, 2018.
