 University of Florida stands as a state, land-grant, sea-grant university whose establishment was sketched in the year 1853. Located in Gainesville, Florida, United Sates, the university performs under the motto “The welfare of the state depends upon the morals of its citizens”. Currently functioning under an effective presidency of Bernie Machen, the prestigious and historical University of Florida holds an endowment of US$1.360 billion. Mac McGriff serves as a chairman and Joseph Glover serves as a provost of the university. A member of prestigious Association of American University (AAU), the University of Florida shelters 5,106 academic staff and 49,042 students which includes 32,776 undergraduates and 17,137 postgraduates. With the prestigious run of more than a century, the university has been serving quality education to its students from the very first day of its establishment.

University of Florida is a senior member of State University System of Florida. This prestigious educational institution is categorized as a Research University with Very High Research by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools the University of Florida is placed in the 14th position of finest public university of United States by U.S. News and World Report in 2013. The University of Florida shelters 16 educational institution under its management holding 150 + research institutes. The seed of the establishment of University of Florida was cultivated in 1853 when East Florida Seminary came in existence in Ocala, Florida. On January 6, 1853, a bill was passed approving the higher education in Florida by Governor Thomas Brown. East Florida Seminary functioned effectively until the Civil War of 1861. The stability of the university was sketched when James Henry Roper’s Gainesville Academy, established in 1858 was granted to State of Florida to relocate the nonfunctioning East Florida Seminary to Gainesville in 1866. After that the institution went own expanding its horizon of working challenging its own abilities and capabilities.
